Did you know Dogpile helps rescue pets? | Dog Housing
Newton doesn't have a dog house. That's right, I never had a dog house built for Newton; primarily because our backyard floods when we get a good rain and there is a covered patio for Newton to hide under during afternoon rain showers. Before deciding to purchase or build a dog house, the first two questions you should ask are "Will the dog house be practical in all forms of weather?" and "Is there enough shade in the yard to forego a dog house?".
If you answered no to both questions, then you should seriously consider purchasing a dog kennel to keep inside the house for times when you will not be home to let your dog inside to cool off. If you answered no to the first question and yes to the second, you will need to answer this question: "Do you have a covered area for your dog to hide under if it rains?"; if yes, then you can put the dog house money back into the bank! If no, then you may want to consider investing in a doggie door into your garage if it is accessible from the backyard, and if not, then a kennel may be the only option for you as well.
